Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Kelly’s 34th Annual Parade in Nags Head!

Jockey’s Ridge Celebrates 50 Years as Grand Marshall of the Biggest St. Patrick’s Parade in Eastern NC

Get ready to paint the town green! This year’s Kelly’s 34th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade promises an unforgettable celebration in Nags Head on Sunday, March 16th. Join the festivities rain or shine, starting at 1 pm, as we honor Jockey’s Ridge State Park for its 50th Anniversary as this year’s Grand Marshall.

Jockey’s Ridge, home to the tallest living sand dune on the Atlantic Coast, offers a perfect backdrop for the parade with its popular hang gliding and kite flying. The parade will take a one-mile route from Bladen Street (MP 11.5) north to Driftwood Street on Virginia Dare Trail, showcasing a competition among parade entrants in categories like Best Overall, Best Float, and Best Band/Music group, with exciting prizes to be won.

Whether you’re a parade enthusiast or looking to volunteer, be sure to download an application to participate or contact the Parade Director, Mary Ann Newman, for more details. This event not only breaks up the winter doldrums but also brings together over ten thousand attendees, making it the largest St. Patrick’s Parade in Eastern North Carolina. Don’t miss out on a day full of spirit…and green! See you on March 16th!
