The 2026 Community Care Clinic of Dare Billfish Tournament
The Fifth Annual Billfish Tournament brings together two things we love about the Outer Banks: offshore fishing and supporting our local community.
There is nothing quite like fishing on the Outer Banks, especially when a day on the water also helps support a great local cause. The Community Care Clinic of Dare is hosting its Fifth Annual Billfish Tournament in 2026, bringing anglers, charter boats, local businesses and supporters together to raise money for healthcare services right here in Dare County.
Supporting the Outer Banks Community
The Community Care Clinic of Dare provides healthcare, medication assistance and wellness education to eligible people who live or work in Dare County. The clinic is funded entirely through grants and donations, making community events like the Billfish Tournament an important part of supporting its work.
Tournament entry fees help support clinic operations, while sponsorships help both sustain the clinic and offset the costs of putting on the tournament. Donations are also accepted and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Outer Banks Offshore Fishing at Its Best
The Outer Banks has a long history of world-class offshore fishing, and this tournament is another opportunity to celebrate that tradition while giving back.
The 2026 tournament includes awards for:
- Largest Billfish Calcutta
- Top Female Angler
- Biggest Tuna
- Biggest Dolphin
- Biggest Wahoo
Participants can also sponsor a charter boat, including the captain and mate, making it possible to get involved even if you don’t have your own boat.
More Than a Fishing Tournament
One of the things we love most about living on the Outer Banks is how our community comes together to support one another. The Billfish Tournament isn’t just about what gets caught offshore. It’s about raising money for an organization that provides affordable health and dental care to uninsured and underinsured members of our Outer Banks community.
There is also a fundraising auction, sponsorship opportunities and other ways to support the Community Care Clinic of Dare even if fishing isn’t your thing.
Want to Get Involved?
Whether you want to enter the tournament, sponsor a boat, become a tournament sponsor, participate in the fundraising auction or simply make a donation, you can find registration forms, tournament rules and additional information directly through the Community Care Clinic of Dare.
