June 4-7, 2026
Summer on the Outer Banks officially starts when the lights go up at the Soundside FunFair. The 9th Annual Soundside FunFair returns to Nags Head June 4–7, 2026, bringing four nights of carnival rides, games, food, and family fun to the Soundside Event Site.
Hosted by the Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County, this annual event has quickly become a favorite tradition for both locals and visitors. Best of all, admission and parking are free, making it an easy and affordable way to enjoy a fun night out on the Outer Banks.
Carnival Rides, Games, and All the Fair Food Favorites
The Soundside FunFair will feature exciting rides for thrill seekers, kid-friendly attractions for little ones, midway games, and all the classic carnival treats everyone looks forward to each year. Expect funnel cakes, cotton candy, fried favorites, and plenty of those nostalgic summer fair vibes.
The event runs nightly from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Soundside Event Site located at 6800 S. Croatan Highway in Nags Head. Whether you stay for a few rides or spend the whole evening there, it’s a great way to enjoy warm summer nights with family and friends.
Ride Pricing and Wristbands
Ride tickets will be available for purchase onsite during the event. Single tickets cost $1.50 each, and 24 tickets can be purchased for $30.
For those planning to ride throughout the evening, unlimited ride wristbands will be available for $30 if purchased at the event. These wristbands include unlimited rides for the night purchased, not including games.
Discounted unlimited ride wristbands are also available online before 5:00 PM on June 4 for $25 plus fees. Online wristbands are valid for any one night of the Soundside FunFair and can be picked up upon arrival at the event.
A Fun Outer Banks Tradition That Gives Back
One of the things that makes the Soundside FunFair so special is how much the community embraces it. Locals look forward to it every year, and visitors love experiencing an event that truly feels like part of the Outer Banks lifestyle.
Beyond the rides and games, the event also supports programs and services that benefit children and families throughout Dare County. Every ride ticket and carnival snack helps support an organization dedicated to strengthening the local community.
Discounted unlimited ride wristbands are typically available online ahead of the event, with tickets and wristbands also available onsite during the fair.
If you’re visiting the Outer Banks in early June, this is definitely an event worth adding to your vacation plans. And if you’re local, grab your friends, bring the kids, and enjoy one of the best ways to kick off summer on Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks.
